About

Catto Katsu (CTK) is a collection of 7000 fun, cute, and relatable cats existing on the Ethereum blockchain. They eat fish katsu for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The Catto Katsu project aims to be more than just worthy of being your profile picture (PFP), it also aims to introduce and experiment with new mechanisms to bring long-term stability and utility to Catto holders.

The Artwork

All the close to 200 traits are carefully hand drawn. The team experimented and decided to go for a casual, simple-to-understand and relatable art style.

The final collection of traits is derived after going through a painstaking process of drafting, and a few rounds of high-fidelity productions to achieve the desirable final look and feel.

Project Motivation

The team has been active participants in the NFT space since the gain of momentum in early 2021, and is excited for the possibilities ahead within the space. However, we have also noticed and experienced the not-so-pleasant side of things. Good projects not progressing due to internal or external factors, the many rug-pulls and scams rampant within the NFT space, and the unhealthy-level obsession with floor price within the community, fluffy roadmaps, just to name a few.

While the team does not have the silver bullets to all the problems, we hope to be a positive contributor to the NFT space, by both piloting mechanisms that we think could set a new standard for future NFTs, and also learning and adopting the things that have worked for other successful projects.

We also hope to attract the right kind community, one that loves the art and is able to make sense of the utility we are proposing herein, and is interested in propelling not just Catto Katsu, but the NFT ecosystem as a whole.
